Meet the Founder

Founder  & President of  - Beyond The Seed

Hello

As the founder of Beyond The Seed Inc., I want to express my gratitude for your interest and support. I hope your visit to our website will enlighten you about our mission to provide genuine assistance to young women and their children. Becoming a mother at a young age brought numerous challenges, yet it also imparted valuable life lessons that have shaped who I am today.

My Journey of Resilience and Hope

Before meeting my husband 26 years ago, I faced significant struggles. Heartbroken and homeless, I found life unbearable. Each day was a challenge, as I battled between my past and the future I needed to create. I understand first hand what is means to be a low-income single mother of two children, with another on the way, I felt I had let everyone down, particularly myself.  The feeling of hopelessness creeped in but I needed to regain my strength for the three precious lives entrusted to me by God. Some weeks, I was uncertain about where we would sleep, but I was determined to improve myself for my children's sake.

I rebuilt myself, step by step, so they could see a positive role model. During this journey, I found God, and through His love, new opportunities emerged. I remember moving into a small, rundown duplex the day I left the hospital with my youngest son, marking a fresh start. I paid $375 in rent and worked as a telemarketer, saving every penny. I transformed that space into our home, despite the barely functioning heat and the smell of drugs seeping through the floorboards. We had a roof over our heads.

I also recall the day I walked into a shelter, pregnant and holding my children’s hands, but something within me compelled me to turn around and leave. That day, I made a promise to value myself, and God honored that commitment.

Today, I hold an associate’s degree in Business Administration and am just nine credits away from my bachelor's in Healthcare Business Administration. Soon, I will pursue a master’s in InterDesign. I share this not to boast but to testify, as many counted me out, but God always counted me in. If you feel tired, broken, and uncertain about tomorrow, remember: You are not alone. God sees you and hears your prayers. Your story is just beginning.

Raising my children on my own has been an experience filled with growth. It’s not just about providing them with physical needs, but also nurturing their spirits, building their self-esteem, and preparing them for the world. Over the years, I have come understand the importance of a strong foundation in faith. My belief in Christ has also supported me in through tough times and guided my decisions toward creating a fulfilling life for my family. I have also recognized the value of surrounding myself with a network of compassionate, like-minded individuals who uplift and remind me that I'm not alone.

I now take that passion and experiences from being a single mom to help equip young single mothers with the tools they need to build better lives for themselves and their children. I know from experience that with the right resources, encouragement, and faith, challenges can be overcome, and families can be strengthen.

This is why I have established Beyond The Seed Inc.—to ensure that other young parents, particularly mothers, have access to the support, resources, and community essential for their success and stability. I aim to offer education, emotional support, and empowerment programs that strengthen families. This nonprofit is about more than just giving; it's about a movement where we uplift one another and empower every single mother to thrive, regardless of the obstacles they encounter.
